3rd - 9th Cedar Key Star Party A week of astronomical happenings including lectures, star and sun gazing through an amazing variety of telescopes, and nature trips. Events will take place at the Cedar Key State Museum, the FWC Field Station and the Cedar Key Scrub State Reserve. EarthDay By Naturally W.I.L.D. At Hart Springs Park, located on the Suwannee River between Trenton and Bell. A big celebration at Hart Springs for kids. Environmental education activities, with hands-on activities for kids. Entertainers Dale Crider, Shanna Banana, Quartermoon, and others will be performing. There will be guest speakers from the Suwannee River Water Management District, Florida Division of Forestry, Florida Wildlife Care, and other nature-related groups. Last Saturday Wild Hog Canoe & Kayak Race A wild, wet and woolly obstacle course, this race covers 15 miles of the twists and turns of the beautiful Waccasassa River from the SR 24 bridge to the one at US 19. Sponsored by the Cedar Key Fraternal Order of Eagles, all proceeds go to benefit the Levy Association of Retarded Citizens.
